Welcome to ff_mm_bookrecs, a community for reviews and recommendations of f/f and m/m books.


Community Purpose
The focus of the community is reviews and recommendations of original (that is to say, non-fanfic) books, novellas, and short stories featuring m/m and f/f relationships. The only requirement for a book to be discussed here is that it significantly involves a lesbian, gay, or bisexual character. If you are unsure if a work is appropriate for discussion, feel free ask one of the mods.

The community encourages both recommendations and critical reviews. You can say as much or as little as you like, but remember that the purpose of the community is to give other prospective readers enough to make an informed decision.

The community is focused primarily on works available in ebook format. Books available only in print may be discussed but must be clearly labeled in the post subject line, as well as tagged.

Please do not upload copyrighted material for sharing.


Labels, Cuts, and Tags
Please give your posts descriptive subject lines, and use the tags provided. The mods may tag posts as well.

Please cut posts for length. Use your best judgment.

Please put plot spoilers behind a cut, and label the cut appropriately.

Please cut potentially triggering material, particularly those involving sexual assault and abuse, and indicate potential triggers in the cut. If you're not sure if what you're posting could be triggering, err on the side of cutting.


Participation by Authors
Authors may announce new works that fit the comm's purpose. Please announce a work only once. You may edit your post to include links for subsequent releases.

While we welcome author announcements, the focus of the community is reader-oriented reviews, including critical reviews. In order to allow for reader discussion, we ask that authors not participate in discussions of their own works.


Other Rules
No personal attacks. This doesn't mean you can't criticize a commenter's ideas. It does mean you should refrain from name-calling while doing it.

Posters and commenters are expected to refrain from language that is racist, sexist, ableist, heterosexist, cissexist, sizeist, ageist, etc.

The mods reserve the right to intervene if behavior, while not specifically violating these rules, is proving disruptive to the community. We will attempt to resolve the matter in a way that best serves everyone's interests, but ultimately, if we tell you to knock something off, knock it off.
